Myrtle Belland was born in Comanche, Texas to Berry and Mary Alice Moore. She grew up on the farm and at age 19 married Burnell Little. They moved to California in 1937. Throughout WWII she worked at Lockeed as a template maker to support war efforts. She managed the office of her husband's construction and mason company "Little Builders." Myrtle was widowed at the age of 50 and began to manage the billing for the Radiology department in the UCLA hospital. In 1982 she married Reverend Stanley Belland. They had 5 years together before she was widowed once more. Myrtle was a huge servant who loved Jesus with all her heart. She served as the president of the Kings Daughters' Home in Palms, CA for elderly ladies, taught Sunday school for many years, and was always there to offer a helping hand. She loved her family and was a true example of God's love to everyone around her. Myrtle is survived by 2 daughters: Alicia Klauser (Joe) and Judi Castro (Chris), 2 stepsons Stanton Belland (Esther) and Bruce Belland (Simone). Myrtle also had 6 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, and 7 step grandchildren. The family wishes to thank all the nurses, doctors, and assistants at Samarkand Smith Center for their loving care. Her memorial service will be held in the Samarkand Mountain Room on December 11, at 2:00 pm. Her burial will be December 18th in Comanche, Texas. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to Hands4Others (hands4others.org), a nonprofit organization led and supported by her family for Wounded Warriors.
