December 23rd, 1919 - April 11th, 2010
Nobs, Lily Frieda, passed away in Santa Barbara at age 90. She was born in Thun, Switzerland and raised in Van Nuys, California. She graduated from UCLA and was employed as a lab technician at the Jules Stein Eye Center at UCLA. She later moved to Santa Barbara where she attended Westmont College. She was employed at Franklin Grammar School, where she taught 2nd grade until her retirement. Lily Nobs is pre-deceased by her parents, Fred and Louise Nobs, sisters May Nobs and Peggy Blackmore, brothers-in law, Calvin Blackmore and Wayne Vaughan. She is survived by sisters Louise Matz, Dolly Vaughan, and Rose (Mrs. Jack) Lockerbie, and many nieces and nephews and their families. Lily traveled all over the world. She loved hiking in the Swiss Alps, and she even climbed Mount Whitney during a full moon to see the sunrise. She was a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church for many years. Her memorial service will be held at the church at 3721 Modoc road on April 23, 2010 at 11:00 o'clock. Graveside services will be private. Lily is now in Heaven with her Lord but will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She was a loving, generous person and a much loved aunt to her many nieces and nephews. We also want to extend a special thanks to Country Gardens and Hospice for their loving and wonderful care. Arrangements entrusted to McDermott-Crockett Mortuary
