Ronald George Matock

It is with great sadness that the family of Ronald Matock announces his sudden passing on Thursday, September 21, 2023, at the age of 50. Ron was born July 17, 1973, in Salinas, CA to his parents, Ronald and Paula (Barsi) Matock. Ron grew up in Salinas, CA and attended Salinas High School. After finishing high school, Ron moved to Jackson and spent several years in the area. Ron then moved to Oregon for a couple of years and spent the last part of his life in Caulder, ID. Ron was a devoted son, brother, uncle, and partner. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, snowmobiling, fishing, and working with his hands. He cared about the ones he loved and appreciated beautiful quiet places such as his family ranch in Jackson, the coast of Oregon, and the pristine forests of Idaho. You will still find Ron’s spirit there. Ron is survived by his brother, Christopher Matock (Sarah) of Concord, CA; sister-in-law, Meghan Matock of Danville, CA; his nephews, Lincoln Matock, Carson Matock, and Luca Matock; niece, Olivia Matock, and his partner, Katie Girard. He is predeceased by his mother, Paula (Barsi) Matock; his father, Ronald Matock; his brother, Marc Matock; grandfather, George Barsi; and grandmother, Pauline Barsi. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Parish in Jackson, CA at 12:30 p.m. on Friday, October 6, 2023. A private interment will take place at the Jackson Catholic Cemetery in Jackson, CA.
