Faye DeAnn Bell passed away December 26, 2023, in Sacramento, CA at the age of 66. She was born on April 6, 1957, in Sacramento, CA to Jimmy and Virginia (Walloupe) Greer. Faye spent most of her childhood in Amador County and began what would be a lifelong career with the Amador County unified school district in 1981. For the bulk of her career she was a ground’s maintenance worker. She continued to work as a substitute maintenance worker for the district after her retirement. She married Gordon Bell in 1973 they settled in Ione and raised their two children. Faye was an active member of the local Native American community. She loved nature and traveling but most of all spending her time with her grandchildren. Faye is survived by her husband of 50 years, Gordon Bell of Ione, CA; children, DeAnna Bell and Justin (Jennifer) Bell both of Ione, CA; grandchildren,Drew, Garett, Emily, Alison, Katherine, Jacie, Kaya, and Leah; 3 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her brothers, William Ward, Jr., Daniel Greer, and Jimmy Greer. A graveside service will be held at the Ione Public Cemetery on Friday, January 5, 2024, at 9:30 a.m. Contributions made in Faye’s name can be sent to Shriners Hospital.
