Bernice Marie Brooks

Bernice Marie Brooks passed away February 20, 2024, in Jackson, CA at the age of 84 years old. She was born in Pine Bluff, AR on October 2, 1939. Bernice is survived by her son, Harold (Nancy) Brooks of Concord, CA, daughter, Celia (Mark) Bettcher of Jackson, CA; grandchildren, Jessica (Chance) Carter, Jennifer (Jason) Evans, Miranda Brooks, Evan Brooks; great grandchildren, Kaden Keith, Ella Evans, Edith Evans, Everley Evans and Colbin Carter. She was preceded in death by her husband of over 50 years, Virgial Brooks. Bernice was a member of the order of Eastern Star for 50+ years and past Grand Matron and Grand Representative to Arkansas. She worked over 25 years as a Branch Manager with Bank of America in Concord, Vallejo, Orinda, Jackson, and Sutter Creek. After retirement from the bank, she worked as the assistant to Margaret Dalton at the Jackson Rancheria and was a host for Jose’s Mexican Restaurant in Jackson for a short time as well. A graveside service will be held at the Sunset View Cemetery in Jackson, CA on Thursday, February 29, 2024, at 11:00 a.m.
