Mary Fabian Blakney

MARY FABIAN BLAKNEY was born in Evanston, IL on May 23, 1927, and grew up in Washington, D.C. She attended Western High School and George Washington University, as well as Miami University in Ohio. She married Ensign Walter Thomas Blakney, USN a year after his graduation from the United States Naval Academy in 1948. They lived in many states and overseas in the course of his assignments as a Naval aviator. Their daughters, Mary Grace Blakney and Suzanne Blakney Katz, as well as six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren survive. Her husband, and their son Walter Scott Blakney, preceded her in death. She will be buried beside them in a private committal.
