Dick James Hayes

Dick James Hayes, 81, of Pine Grove, CA, passed away on March 24, 2024. He was born on August 23, 1942, in La Jolla, CA. Dick was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and friend. Dick graduated from Orange High School and furthered his education at American River College. Dick dedicated 40 years of his life to United Airlines as an Agent, leaving a lasting impact on all those he worked with. He was known for his professionalism and dedication to his career. Outside of work, Dick had a passion for travel, lapidary, and painting to name a few. His creative spirit shone through in his hobbies, bringing joy to those around him. He especially loved going to Disneyland and Kauai. His most memorable trips were going to Australia and New Zealand. He is survived by his loving wife, Pat Hayes; children, Terri (Rocky) Deavers, Wanda (Robert) Applemun and Sean Hayes; grandchildren, Kayla Deavers, Chelsea Deavers, Brady (Manpreet) Deavers, Jared Applemun, Taylor Applemun, and Kylie Applemun; great granddaughter, Renee Richards. Sisters Dixie (Glenn “Sonny”) Hoffman, Debra (Scott) Prilliman, Deanna (Gabe) Magalogo and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, James Travis Hayes, mother, Wanda Jean Hayes, and brother Daniel Travis Hayes. A celebration of life will be planned at a future date to honor and remember the life of Dick James Hayes. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
