Ophelia C. Rivera, 78, longtime resident of Monterey county, passed away on July 16, 2013 in Gonzales. She was born on September 27, 1934 in Baja California, Mexico. Ophelia is survived by her daughters, Gloria Valdez of Huron Elizabeth Carnero of Antioch Angie Chavez of Salinas Roxann Rivera of Salinas Yvonne Rivera of Salinas sons, Refugio Rivera of Minnesota Randy Rivera of Vacaville numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren sisters, Olga Cariaga Alicia Martinez brothers, Manuel Cariaga of Salinas Jerry Cariaga of Brawley She is preceded in death by her sisters, Maria Espinoza and Lilly Holman Visitation will be held on Monday, July 22, 2013 1-9pm with a Rosary recital at 7pm all at Healey Mortuary 405 N. Sanborn Rd. Salinas, CA 93905. A Celebration Mass will take place on Tuesday, July 23, 2013 at 2pm at St. Theodore's Catholic Church in Gonzales, CA. Burial to follow services at the Gonzales District Cemetery Hwy 101 South, Gonzales, CA 93926.

Healey hoped to find a way to continue to meaningfully help his county and community grow. He and his wife founded Salinas Valley Mortuary in 1956 to help serve the families in the Salinas Valley area. Their lifelong mission was to unselfishly serve area families based on their strong, trusting relationship with their community – something we honor to this day almost seven decades years later....
