Edward "Eddie" Lucero
October 13th, 1932 - September 26th, 2013
Edward "Eddie" D. Lucero, 80, passed away peacefully Thursday, September 26, 2013 in Salinas, surrounded by his loving family. Born October 13, 1932 in Upland, Eddie resided in Salinas for the past 17 years. He proudly served in the U.S. Airforce and previously worked as an engineer in aerospace technology for over 35 years. He is survived by his children, Susan (Raul) Anda, Edward (Julie) Lucero Jr., and Vincent (Mary Dawn) Lucero; his grandchildren, Courtney, Taylor, and Lily; and his siblings, Tomas, Robert, Alfonso Lucero, and Cecelia Solorio. Eddie was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia N. Lucero. Visitation will be held Tuesday, October 8, 2013 from 4 to 8 p.m., at the Healey Mortuary, 405 N. Sanborn Road, Salinas, CA 93905. Graveside services will be held Friday, October 11, 2013 at 11 a.m., at the Bellevue Memorial Park Cemetery in Ontario. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations in his memory be given to the American Cancer Society, (Relay For Life ), or to the Salinas Animal Shelter.

Healey hoped to find a way to continue to meaningfully help his county and community grow. He and his wife founded Salinas Valley Mortuary in 1956 to help serve the families in the Salinas Valley area. Their lifelong mission was to unselfishly serve area families based on their strong, trusting relationship with their community – something we honor to this day almost seven decades years later....
