Paul Martinez 24, of Salinas, passed away Monday, October 28, 2013. He was born in Mexico City, Mexico. He came to live in Salinas when he was just two years old along with his two older brothers and parents. Paul graduated from North Salinas High School in 2007, where he played football and one season of soccer. He was an avid SF 49ers fan! The walls of his room from top to bottom display the love he had for the game and the team. Paul, “Pabalu” “Takis Man”, as some of his friends knew him, grew up and lived in the same neighborhood his entire life. He was one of the “Block Kids”, a group of kids who grew up and always played around Block Ave. for more than 20 years. Now as an adult he was still walking the same streets, walking his beloved baby “Knuckles”, his male boxer dog, along side his loving girlfriend, Nikki. Paul was a loving son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, boyfriend, and friend. There wasn’t anything he wouldn’t do for his loved ones to make them happy or to at least bring a smile to there face. Paul is survived by his mother, Maria Isabel Martinez; brother, Marco (Alexandra) Martinez; nieces, Cati, Annalaura, and Daniela Martinez; girlfriend, Nicole Stout; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins in Calif., Nev., and Mexico and tons of “BROTHERS”, his faithful friends till the end. He was preceded in death by his father, Antonio Martinez; brother, Carlos Martinez; brother, Marco Antonio Martinez; grandfather, Carlos Martinez and aunt, Hortencia Lopez Martinez. Visitation will be held Sunday, November 3, 2013 from 1 to 9 p.m., with a Rosary at 7 p.m., all at Healey Mortuary, 405 N. Sanborn Road, Salinas, CA 93905. A Funeral Mass will be held Monday, November 4, 2013 at 10 a.m., at Christ The King Catholic Church, 240 Calle Cebu, Salinas, CA 93901. Burial will follow at the Garden of Memories Cemetery, 850 Abbott St., Salinas, CA 93901.

Healey Mortuary

At Healey, we treat our Salinas Valley community members like family. Our story begins after World War II when Veteran Herbert C. Healey hoped to find a way to continue to meaningfully help his county and community grow. He and his wife founded Salinas Valley Mortuary in 1956 to help serve the families in the Salinas Valley area. Their lifelong mission was to unselfishly serve area families based on their strong, trusting relationship with their community – something we honor to this day almost seven decades years later....
