Alda Crance
May 25th, 1924 - November 24th, 2013
Alda Elizabeth Crance, 89. longtime resident of Salinas, passed away on November 24, 2013 in Salinas. She was born on May 25, 1924 in Macon, Georgia. Alda married Lewis Crance in 1943 and lived in New York and Ohio prior to moving to Salinas with her family in 1965. Alda worked briefly at the local Rexall Drug Store before obtaining her position at Mervyn's Department Store as an Alternationist, where she retired in 1989. She enjoyed sewing, cooking and attending small gatherings with friends. Alda especially enjoyed belonging to the "Rat Fink Valley CB Radio Club", where she was fondly known as, "Red Rose". Alda is survived by her 3 children, Everita Naomi, James Norman and Gerald Thomas, 3 grandchildren, Lisa, David and Justin, great-great-grandchildren, Ashley and Blake also survive. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, December 7, 2013 at 2pm at the Healey Mortuary Chapel 405 N. Sanborn Rd. Salinas, CA 93905.

Healey hoped to find a way to continue to meaningfully help his county and community grow. He and his wife founded Salinas Valley Mortuary in 1956 to help serve the families in the Salinas Valley area. Their lifelong mission was to unselfishly serve area families based on their strong, trusting relationship with their community – something we honor to this day almost seven decades years later....
