Hector Chavez
November 15th, 1955 - March 1st, 2014
Hector Chavez, 58, lifelong resident of Salinas, passed away on Saturday, March 1, 2014, in Bakersfield. He was born on November 15, 1955, in Ft. Ord, CA. Hector was a self-employed sand blaster for over 20 years. He was a charter member of the Hell's Angels Bike Club for 28 years in Santa Cruz, Bakersfield and previously in Monterey. Hector is survived by his daughters, Virginia (Robert) Lucio Mary Lina (George) Lopez Noel (Emilio) Magallon Misty Galvan son, Hector Chavez II mother, Mary Lou Vizcarra brothers, "Tiny" Chavez and Samuel (Nea) Vizcarra sister, Deborah (Steve) Whitlock 2 step-sisters and 1 step-brother 6 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, along with numerous aunts, uncles and other loving relatives. Visitation will be held on Friday, March 21, 2014 from 3 to 9 p.m., at the Apostolic Community Life Center located on Market and Williams in Salinas. and also on Saturday, March 22, 2014 from 1 to 9 p.m. at Healey Mortuary, 405 N. Sanborn Road, Salinas. Cremation to follow services.

Healey hoped to find a way to continue to meaningfully help his county and community grow. He and his wife founded Salinas Valley Mortuary in 1956 to help serve the families in the Salinas Valley area. Their lifelong mission was to unselfishly serve area families based on their strong, trusting relationship with their community – something we honor to this day almost seven decades years later....
