Gregory Glenn
January 1st, 1957 - November 20th, 2014
Gregory Randal Glenn announced his birth to the world by interrupting the Rose Bowl parade on January 1, 1957 in Pasadena, CA and was granted his angel wings on November 20, 2014, in Salinas. In the last years of his life, Greg was cared for by his daughters who truly loved and supported him. His final days were spent surrounded by family and friends that he had touched in some way throughout his short, yet memorable life. At a young age, he and his brother enjoyed shagging balls for the San Francisco Giants at their spring training camp in Mesa, AZ. He was given a bat from Reggie Jackson that was treated as gold among all the neighborhood kids. Greg graduated from North Salinas High in 1975 where he played basketball. He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps from July 28, 1975 to July 27, 1981. His happiness and love involved being with his family and quality time with his girls. His life-long passion was his Harley and enjoying the freedom of the open road. He instilled strength and hope reminding us of the preciousness of life and the determination to always look forward. He is survived by his two precious daughters, Amanda and Kayla Glenn of Prunedale and his wife Tammy; grandchildren, Nicholas Markert Jr., Vincent Vargas Jr. and Meiha Vargas of Prunedale; parents, Verdan and Sylvia Glenn of Sun City West, Arizona; sister, Valarie Davis (Carl) and brother Kenneth Glenn (Sally) of Salinas; grandmother, Bonnie Glenn of Mesa, AZ, many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and an uncountable number of friends also survive. A Celebration of Life will be held in Greg’s honor on December 13, 2014 at 3:00 PM in the Rodeo Room at the Salinas Rodeo Grounds.

We Entrusted Gregory Glenn's Care To
Healey Mortuary
At Healey, we treat our Salinas Valley community members like family. Our story begins after World War II when Veteran Herbert C. Healey hoped to find a way to continue to meaningfully help his county and community grow. He and his wife founded Salinas Valley Mortuary in 1956 to help serve the families in the Salinas Valley area. Their lifelong mission was to unselfishly serve area families based on their strong, trusting relationship with their community – something we honor to this day almost seven decades years later....
