Joan Mc Eachern
August 22nd, 1933 - December 11th, 2014
Joan Carol Mc Eachern, 81, of Salinas, passed away on December 11, 2014. She was born on August 22, 1933 in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Joan spent most of her life in Baltimore, Maryland. She married Gary L. Mc Eachern in 1954. Joan and Gary traveled all along the Eastern seaboard. She grew to love history, and was pivotal in instilling in her daughter, Sue, the same lifelong passion. In later years, Joan lived in Tampa, Florida, then Las Vegas, Nevada. She eventually settled in Salinas, to be close to Sue and Bill. Joan took great pride in her Irish heritage. She welcomed clever jokes and a good (if irreverent) tale. It is not surprising that all around her apartment was reflected her deep love for her family, as well as for the Blarney. Joan's life and her family were enriched by the goodness and care she received from the fine folks at Emeritus. Knowing she was so loved by family and friends; Joan gently began her next journey with peace, dignity and with the knowledge that the best was yet to come. Joan is survived by, her daughter, Susan Kathleen Sutton and her husband, William. She is preceded in death by, parents, William and Helen V. Mooney and her only brother, Donald S. Mooney. A Celebration of Joan's Life will take place on Tuesday, December 16, 2014 2:30pm at Emeritus at Harden Ranch 290 Regency Circle, Salinas, CA 93906.

We Entrusted Joan Eachern's Care To
Healey Mortuary
At Healey, we treat our Salinas Valley community members like family. Our story begins after World War II when Veteran Herbert C. Healey hoped to find a way to continue to meaningfully help his county and community grow. He and his wife founded Salinas Valley Mortuary in 1956 to help serve the families in the Salinas Valley area. Their lifelong mission was to unselfishly serve area families based on their strong, trusting relationship with their community – something we honor to this day almost seven decades years later....
