Domingo V. Gutierrez, born May 12, 1919, passed away at home on Sunday, August 7th, surrounded by his family. He was a hard-working man who enjoyed cooking, gardening and bird watching. He especially enjoyed his dogs and most recently, his "kitty". Domingo was a member of the St. Mary of the Nativity parish. Domingo is survived by his three daughters, Perla DeLeon of Atascadero, Cella Gutierrez and Kathy Longoria both of Salinas and his seven sons, Al, Gus and Hugo Gutierrez all of Salinas, Roy Gutierrez of Oroville, Richard Gutierrez of Brentwood, Domingo Gutierrez, Jr. of Ventura and Hector Gutierrez of Huntington Beach. 14 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson also survive. He is preceded in death by his wife, Maria Gutierrez and great-grandson, Alex Rodriguez. Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 11, 2016 1-9pm with a Rosary vigil at 7pm, all at Healey Mortuary 405 N. Sanborn Rd. Salinas, CA 93905. Funeral Mass will take place on Friday, August 12, 2016 10am at St. Mary of the Nativity Church 424 Towt St. Salinas, CA 93905. Burial to follow services at the Queen of Heaven Cemetery 18200 Damian Way Salinas, CA 93907.
