Dolores Mary Mendenhall Resident of Walnut Creek December 20, 1934 December 15, 2017 Dolores Mary (Lambert) Mendenhall passed away after an aggressive and short battle with cancer at her home in Walnut Creek surrounded by her loving family. Her unconditional love and devotion to her family was expressed through her caring thoughts, actions, and prayers. Dolores was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Her family moved to Southern California in 1940. She earned her degree in Education at UCLA and was a member of Sigma Kappa. Dolores was an elementary school teacher before raising four children and becoming a day care provider. Her life-long passion was singing as Dolores enjoyed over 50 years of her life as a Sweet Adeline singer and chorus director for both women and men, who performed and competed regionally and nationally. She shared her talent by teaching adult education and by performing at church services and elder care facilities. One of her proudest accomplishments was establishing two choruses (Harmonizers & Grace Notes) in Rossmoor that she directed for over 25 years. Teaching and sharing her gift of music and song not only brought her joy and happiness, but in turn brought to many others. Dolores is survived by her loving husband of over 59 years, Dorsey; her children, Mike Mendenhall, Tom Mendenhall (Julie), Monica Rosenheim (Dave), Dan Mendenhall (Cindy); her grandchildren, Eileen Pelletier (Mike), Melissa Mendenhall, Max Mendenhall, Abbie Mendenhall; and three great-grandchildren, Eden, Aliyah, and Summer Pelletier. Pre-deceased by her three older brothers, Jack Lambert, David Lambert and Tom Lambert.
