Dorothy Ruth Heermance Oram December 1, 1919 - January 21, 2011 Long time resident of Pleasant Hill, Ca Dorothy was born in Oakland, CA, graduated from Oakland Technical High School, and Merritt Business College. She met her husband Paul at a Hallowe'en dance in 1936 and they married October 17, 1939. They enjoyed 64 years of marriage before Paul passed away November 30, 2003. Dorothy was a tireless homemaker and loved nothing better than taking care of her family and serving others. She was active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, having many callings over the years, particularly in the Primary and Relief Society. Her most cherished calling was serving 22 years at the Family History Center in Oakland. Dorothy is survived by her four children: Bonnie Fonoimoana (Sonny) of Pleasant Hill; Pat Talbott of Pleasant Hill; Nancy Oram of Concord; and David Oram of Washington, PA; 16 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren. A family graveside service was held Tuesday, January 25 at Oakmont Memorial Park, Lafayette, CA. Anyone wishing to make a donation, may do so to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Missionary or Humanitarian Fund at http://www.ldsphilanthropies.org/ Private graveside services will be held.
