Alwyn Shirley Wales, 88, of Concord, California passed away on Monday, August 28, 2017 at Courtyards At Pine Creek. She was born November 23, 1928, in Rangoon, Burma, the daughter of George Malcolm and Clara Birdie Wales. Alwyn worked for Bank of America in San Francisco for 18 years, until her retirement at age 65. In her spare time, she enjoyed cooking, listening to music, watching sports and spending time with her family and friends. She is the dear sister of Megan Myo Aung (Valentine), Rudolph, Colleen, Keith (Peggy), Irwin (Dolores) and Alvina Mangrai (Sao Kawn Kiao). She was also the beloved aunt and grand aunt of Michael, Maureen (Candy), Lorraine (Melanie & Shawn), Diane (Michael & Clinton), Cheryl (Brooke), Roberta, David, Robert, Pamela, Desiree, Mark (Lilly & Olivia), Richard (Cheryl, Samantha, Alyssa, Kamden & Ivan), Elizabeth (Luke & Zack) and Manda (Valentine). She will be truly missed by the whole family and other loved ones for her nurturing heart, generosity, joyous spirit and infectious laugh. A memorial service will be held Saturday, September 9th at 12:00 noon at Oak Park Hills Chapel at 3111 North Main Street, Walnut Creek, CA 94597.
