James Crandall Logsdon
February 25th, 1940 - July 2nd, 2016
Orinda resident James Crandall Logsdon passed away on Saturday, July 2 after a brief illness. Jim was born on February 25, 1940 in Los Angeles, CA. to Ned and Betty Logsdon. After serving 3 years in the US Army, he returned to graduate with a Bachelor of Science degree from San Diego State University and a law degree from the University of California, Berkeley School of Law. He had a 34-year career as a litigation attorney for PG&E in San Francisco, retiring in 2004. He married the late Jean Coates in 1976 and they had two sons, John and Michael. Jean passed away in 1996, and in 2000 he married Judy French. He is survived by his wife Judy; son John Logsdon of Brooklyn, NY; daughter-in-law Melody Meyer; son Michael Logsdon of Philadelphia, PA; sister Demaris Walton of Bend, OR; sister Kathleen Craw of Stafford, VA; grandchildren Abe and Nora Logsdon; stepsons Peter and Michael French. Jim was truly one of a kind in so many ways. He was full of life - generous, loving, witty and the world will be a less interesting place without him. He will long be remembered and missed by his devoted family and many friends and colleagues. He had a lifelong love of the outdoors, cooking and world travel. He had a particular passion for fishing, both deep sea fishing and fly-fishing. A celebration of life for Jim will be held on July 23rd at 1pm at the Logsdon family home.
