Linda L. Auzenne
May 23rd, 1944 - February 17th, 2017
Linda L. (Pecsok) Auzenne passed away peacefully on February 17, 2017. Linda grew up with her two brothers, Charlie and Bill, in Greenwich, Connecticut. Born on May 23, 1944, Linda was the middle child of the family. From a young age, Linda was determined to become a nurse. She attended Wagner College in New York and graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Nursing in 1965. Lindas career led her to Samuel Merritt Hospital in Oakland, California, where she met the love of her life. Following her marriage to Wilton H. Auzenne in 1973, Linda pursued her love of working with children by joining a pediatrics practice in Oakland, where she worked for the duration of her career. Linda and Wil raised their family in Pleasant Hill, California, where they remained until their deaths. Linda was a generous and supportive mother, nurturing five children while continuing to work part-time as a pediatric nurse. In 1990, Wil and Linda also welcomed an exchange student from Switzerland, Rita Haller, into their home. Rita remained close to them throughout their lives. Linda took great pleasure in making a home for her family, regular breakfasts with Wil at the neighborhood Carrows Restaurant, and visits from her children and grandchildren. She and Wil were members of Hillcrest Congregational Church, where they served in various roles of service. Linda suffered a long battle with Alzheimers, and lived her final years at Heatherwood in Walnut Creek, California. Linda is preceded in death by her parents, Gilbert and Virginia (Buss) and her husband, Wilton H. Auzenne. She is survived by her two brothers, Charles Gary Pecsok and William Howard Pecsok; five children and their spouses, Michael Sidney, Anne Michele (Ricardo Jacquez), Mark Honor, Craig Kenneth (Sharon Sullivan), and Jodi Lynn (Michael Mascaro); nine grandchildren, Damian, Alexander, Andrew, and Sydney Auzenne, Wilton and Benjamin Buntain, Jack Auzenne, and Olivia and Adeline Mascaro; and one great grandchild, Teegan Hopkins. A memorial Celebration of Life service will be held at Hillcrest Congregational Church, 404 Gregory Lane, Pleasant Hill, California, on Saturday, April 1, at 11:00 a.m. Linda will be interred next to her beloved husband Wil in a private family ceremony at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery in Dixon, California. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Lindas name to the Cure Alzheimers Fund at www.curealz.org. Condolences to the family may also be expressed online at www.oakparkhillschapel.com.
