Tony James Elmer
December 19th, 1958 - November 16th, 2020
Tony James Elmer passed away on Monday November 16, 2020. He was an amazing man and will be missed by many. Tony was born in Auburn, CA. He graduated from Watsonville High School and shortly after served a two- year mission in Spokane, WA for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter- Day Saints. Upon returning he began his career in automotive technology at West Coast Farms in Watsonville, CA. Tony married Diane Seaman in April of 1981 and they had four daughters. He went on to work for dealerships within the Bay Area, all the while continuing his education through various training programs and completed a certificate of automotive mechanics from De Anza College in Cupertino, Ca, culminating in him becoming a Master Mechanic. In 1991, Tony moved his family to Fairfield, Ca and continued working for local Ford Motor Company Dealerships. In 2003, Tony began working for Syar Industries in Napa, CA as a heavy- duty automotive technician. When Syar Industries opened up a concrete division he was asked to be one of the first technicians to work on the concrete mixer trucks because of his expertise working on heavy duty machinery. He ended his seventeen- year career with Syar as the Senior Fleet Mechanic over the concrete mixers. Tony was instrumental in the development, production and success of the concrete mixers at Syar industries. Tony was an avid hunter and fisherman. On the weekends you could often find him in a duck blind with his dogs, or in the Warner Mountains four wheeling with his friends and family. He loved American classic cars and Jeeps. At any family dinner he was always the cook behind all of the amazing food; he thoroughly enjoyed creating new recipes and smoking meat on his Traeger Grill. The joys of his life were his wife, daughters, son-in-law and granddaughters. He loved spending time with them. Tony was a man of great faith and was a lifelong devoted member in Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Tony is survived by his beloved wife Diane; devoted daughters Jessica Elmer, Melissa Elmer, Shauna Elder (Phillip), Heidi Elmer and sweet grand- daughters Evelyn, Ava, Nora and Charlotte Elder. He is also survived by his mother, Dorothy Elmer and three sisters, Patty Elmer, Connie Elmer-Akin (Tony), and Janneene Bivins (Richard). Tony also leaves behind many many loved friends. He was preceded in death by his revered father Gary Lee Elmer. Tony was a wonderful generous family man who will be missed by all who knew him. A private funeral service will be held for him in his cherished Alturas, CA on Saturday November 21st 2020. Burial to follow at Alturas Cemetery. A public memorial will follow at a later date. A memorial will be held at a later date. Private Interment
