Wilford Frank Passey
July 4th, 1925 - February 12th, 2016
Wilford Frank Passey passed away on February 12, 2016 in Antioch, California. He was born to Leon William Passey, Sr. of Logan, Utah and Chloey W. Hampton of Franklin, Idaho on July 4, 1925, the second of five children. Frank grew up and went to school in Logan, Utah. After high school graduation, he went into the Navy where he was trained as a Medic and then was assigned to the Marines Medical Corp. After returning from the war, he married his sweetheart, Joyce Genevieve Eames (Hampton). They had three children: Steven Frank, Darla Joyce, and Janet Kay. They divorced in 1965. He later met and married Martha Agnes Hollis (Finnell) on February 8, 1966. Three years later their marriage was solemnized in the Oakland Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. During this time Frank worked as a production manager at Hiram Walkers in San Francisco and E. Martinoni & Company in South San Francisco. He later had a very successful Real Estate business. Frank and Martha Passey lived in Alameda, California as they raised her five children. Later they moved to Arlington, Texas until her retirement from the U.S. Navy Exchange. After retirement they moved to Patterson, California and then to Antioch ending up in the Cypress Meadows Assisted Living in Antioch, where he remained until his death. Frank was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and served in many capacities including counselor in the bishopric and as a temple worker in the Oakland Temple. Frank and Martha would have been married 50 years on February 8, 2016. He was preceded in death by his wife Martha and is survived by his three children, Steven Frank Passey (Calleen), Darla Joyce Stanger (Calvin), Janet Kay Passey and five step children Mary Ann Slaby, John Floyd Finnell (Dottie), Linda Lois Hilken, Nina Annette Hernandez (Robert), Al Stephen Finnell (Beth) and 18 grandchildren, and 31 great grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held Friday, February 19, 2016 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 2350 Jeffery Way, Brentwood, California 94513 The viewing will be at 10:00 am and the funeral at 11:00 am. Interment will be immediately following the service at: Oak View Memorial Park, 2500 East 18th St. Antioch, California. In lieu of flowers the family has suggested a donation to the Alzheimers Association www.alz.org.
