Ralph David Lauper November 14th, 1944 - June 23rd, 2010 Great Husband. Great Father. Great Brother. Great Friend. More information and photos at: www.davidlauper.com A Danville resident since 1986, Ralph David Lauper died suddenly on Wednesday, June 23rd, 2010 while on vacation in Bordeaux, France. Preliminary indications point to a hemorrhage from his pancreas. David was born in St. George, Utah to Ralph Lauper and Jane Pace. David graduated from Hirum Johnson High School in Sacramento. He served as a missionary for two years in London for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He earned a Doctorate of Pharmacy degree from the University of California in San Francisco. For 35 years he focused on the field of Oncology, working at SUNY in Buffalo, NY; NYC Hospital; Bristol-Meyers in Syracuse, NY; Cetus/Chiron in Emeryville, CA; SuperGen in Dublin, CA and Otsuka in Danville, CA. He loved his family and friends. He was known for telling fun stories and his warm smile. He enjoyed college sports and travel. He was also a fan of crossword puzzles, games, John le Carre novels. David is survived by his wife, Judy; children Michael Lauper of Danville, Julie Lauper-Cook and spouse, David, of Decatur, IL; Troy Lauper and spouse, Angelina, of Orem; UT, Jennifer Lauper of Danville, CA; Adam Lauper and spouse, Karina, of San Diego, CA; and Aaron Lauper and spouse, Michelle, of Seattle, WA. He was a happy grandpa to eight grandchildren: Cassandra, Sage, Azrielle, Jasper, Joshua, Anthony, Bradley, and June. He is also survived by his sister Rica Van Katwyk and spouse Kevin of Vacaville, CA. David touched many lives with his warm spirit and positive outlook on life and he will be missed. Friends and family are invited to a viewing on Tuesday July 6th, 2010 from 9-10 a.m. and a funeral service from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. at the Danville LDS Chapel at 655 Old Orchard Rd., Danville. Burial to follow at Oakmont Cemetery in Lafayette at 2 p.m.. Visitation Tuesday, July 6, 2010 09:00 am-10:00 am
