Eleanor Anita Bregman

ELEANOR ANITA BREGMAN Resident of Castro Valley (formerly of San Ramon, Danville and Brentwood) Eleanor Bregman (nee Bloom) passed away on November 17, 2021, ten days short of her 92nd birthday. She was born in The Bronx, New York, in 1929, and moved to California in 1946. She graduated from Fairfax High School in Los Angeles in 1947. Eleanor and Leonard (Elly and Len) met in southern California, and married in 1950. They moved to the Bay Area in the 1960s and raised their family in San Ramon. Eleanor was preceded in death by Leonard, her husband, in 2015; her parents Paul Bloomquist in 1994 and mother Rose in 1999; and son-in-law Allen Fletcher in 2020. She is survived by her daughters Kathy Hart (Steve) and Donna Bregman-Fletcher. She also leaves behind grandchildren Rebekah Hart and David Hart (Amber). Elly worked as an Optical Assistant in Dublin for many years for Dr. Milton Levin, and later, Dr. Mark McAdams. She enjoyed playing bridge, Mahjong, and bingo, and was an avid knitter. Ellys family extends heartfelt gratitude to the Assisted Living staff at Baywood Court in Castro Valley, and Vitas Healthcare. A Celebration of Life will take place in the spring. Elly will be interred next to Leonard at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery in Dixon, California.
