On the evening of September 25, 2023, Justin Michael Tjan’s beautiful heart suddenly, inexplicably and oh so tragically, stopped beating. Born March 5, 2005,Justin was only 18 years old and from the perspective of youth, was presumed tolive forever. He was working out in his home gym, eager to strengthen his lessthan beefy body, when his heart betrayed him and, ultimately, all who loved him.Justin was an active, curious, spiritual, empathic, sensitive, and bright youngsoul. He had recently graduated from California High School and was in his firstsemester of college exploring his future, yet uncertain of his place and hisenormous potential.Justin will be remembered in the sound of a dribbling basketball on a hardwoodfloor; in the rapid-fired, softspoken, sometimes off-color quip revealing his humorand intelligence; in his love of all things film and Superheroes “before it was coolto like Superheroes”; in his eerie and uncanny observations and sensitivity tohistory, family, and relationships past and present; and he will be remembered forhis love of the scriptures, his sincere belief in the power of prayer and hisknowledge of a loving Heavenly Father.Justin was loved by so many, not least of all by his grieving and adoringfamily. His parents, Ed and Tricia Tjan, his sister, Julia Tjan, his brothers, Joshand Jake Tjan, his Grammy, Pat Rodrigues, his Oma and Opa, Non and TonyTjan, are all devastated by their sudden and profound loss. Justin’s family andfriends will mourn the young man they love and they look forward to reunitingwith him as an eternal family.Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, October 7,10:00 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints5025 Crow Canyon RoadSan Ramon, CABuriel at 1:00 p.m.Saint Michael’s Cemetery3885 East AvenueLivermore, CAIN LIEU OF FLOWERS, PLEASE CONSIDER DONATING TO THE AMERICAN HEART ASSOCIATION.
