Edith Bell Kirk Asay
March 10th, 1926 - October 6th, 2023
Edith was born in Pleasant Grove, Utah to Walter L. Kirk and Ethel Fowkes. She was the oldest of four siblings. all who have passed on before her. Jocelyn Kirk Lelis, Shirley Kirk Jensen, and Walter L. Kirk Jr. She married at age 15 to William Lee Asay (Lee) at City hall in Salt Lake City, Utah on June 5, 1941. She had one child named Connie Gayle born on June 19, 1942. She also became the legal guardian to Terry J. Miller (nephew to her husband Lee) and his son Jason (both deceased). She is the grandmother to six grandchildren: Tammy Le Cheminant (Mark), Loren Lee (Kristin), Darren Lee (Debbie), Lora Mather (Brady), Steven Lee (Jodi), Aaron Lee (Anne). She has 23 great-grandchildren, and 20 Great, Great, grandchildren. She loved being a mother and grandmother and took advantage of spoiling each one of them. She graduated from Oakland Tech School with a degree in business. She was very accomplished in her financial affairs and enjoyed investing in the stock market. She ran the accounts payable office for Emporium Capwell Company in Oakland, California until she retired. Edith enjoyed snow skiing, bowling, gardening, baking, canning, parties, traveling, and always had a book in her hand. She knitted, crocheted, and liked hand embroidery. She loved stage plays and dressing up to go out to fancy restaurants or to San Francisco / Sacramento for musical performances. She was a classy lady. She put her silk stockings on with cotton gloves. She had many suits in all colors and hats and shoes to match. She enjoyed traveling each year with Lee to different places in the United States with the 71st Infantry which Lee served with during WWII. She was loving and kind and very generous. She gave donations to all kid's organizations and animals. She loved her cats/dogs, and birds, and they loved her. She was a very special lady. She was a blessing to all who knew her. A great example of love, and compassion for both people and animals, and gave generously to many organizations. We love you and miss you, EDITH.
