Christopher Wallace Thompson

On May 3, 2024 Christopher W. Thompson passed away at home surrounded by family. 

He was born May 23, 1965 in Loveland, Colorado to Carroll W. Thompson and Laura B. Thompson.

Chris worked with his father at his father’s service station – Carroll’s Conoco, in downtown Loveland, for many years before a back injury left him with a permanent disability. Chris had a wonderful sense of humor and an infectious laugh, he loved working with his hands working on cars throughout his life, creating beautiful stained-glass pieces, traveling with his family, and playing with his first and only grandson who brought the biggest smile to his face.

Chris met the love of his life, Sondra Lefrancois while in high school. They were married in 1984. He was a loving father to his son Matthew and daughter Amanda.

Chris is survived by his wife Sondra Thompson of 40 years (Loveland), son Matthew Thompson (Fort Collins), daughter Amanda Thompson and partner Kevin Lehtinen and 20 month old grandson Bronson Lehtinen (Berthoud). Mother and Father Carroll and Laura Thompson (Temple, TX), Uncle Bill Swinney and wife Rayma (Haskell, TX),  sister Jody McGhghy and husband David (Belton, TX), brothers Mike Thompson and wife Gail (Fort Collins, CO), Bob Thompson (Saint Cloud, FL), Tony Thompson and wife Michelle (Philomath, OR), along with many nieces and nephews, Jessica Thompson and partner Casey Johnson (Windsor), Megan Spear and husband Jason (Milliken), Duane McGhghy and wife Cortney (great nephews and niece Austin, Chloe, and Oliver) (Temple, TX) and David McGhghy  and wife Vanessa (Temple, TX), Amber Thompson (Colorado), Justin Thompson  and wife Anna (great nephew Gunner) (Laramie, WY), and Derek Thompson (Philomath, OR).

The family wants to thank Accent Care Hospice and all of their staff who provided exceptional care to Chris during his time needing their services and for the support given to his family.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday May 15, 2024 at 3PM at Immanuel Lutheran Church – 4650 Sunview Drive, Loveland, CO. A reception will follow the service.
