Jesus Barajas Martinez was born in Tototlan, Jalisco, Mexico to Agustina Barajas and Roberto Martinez on June 8th, 1951. He was the third of six siblings to Javier, Maria, Jose, Amparo, and Luis Martinez. Jesus and his siblings were raised with very devoted Catholic faith and family upbringing. He arrived to Salinas, California in 1970 as an agricultural worker for the Bud Antle, Dole, and Tanimura and Antle, the Salad Bowl companies of the world for more than 40 years. 

In 1972, he met his long time love and wife, Anna Louisa Flores Martinez. Together they formed a family and had three daughters, Guadalupe De La Paz Martinez Ceja (Juan Ceja), Jessica Marie Martinez Saavedra (Isaac Saavedra), and Noel Elizabeth Martinez (Jason Lee). During his life, he always proved to be a hardworking and dedicated father and husband. He was a loving grandfather to Juan Ceja, Jr., Rubi Patricia Ceja, Juan Diego Ceja, Citlali Anna Saavedra, Mila Jessica Saavedra, Messiah Saavedra, Isaiah Gavin Elliott, Ayden Mathew Lee, and Sebastian Tavias Lee. He also has many friends and family that he loved very much. Siempre te extrañaremos Daddy.

 

Preceded by death by: his parents Agustina Barajas and Roberto Martinez, and his loving wife Anna Louisa Flores Martinez. 

Visitation: Healey Mortuary, 405 N. Sanborn Rd. Salinas, CA 93905 Thursday, May 9th, 2024 12:00pm-6:00pm (Rosary 4:00pm) 

Mass: Sacred Heart Church, 22 Stone St., Salinas, CA 93901 Friday, May 10th, 2024 9:30am 

Entombment will follow at: Queen of Heaven Cemetery, 18200 Damian Way, Salinas, CA 93907 

Reception to follow at: Masonic Temple, 48 E San Joaquin St, Salinas, CA 93901 1:00pm-7:00pm
