Carol Bond
November 30th, 1949 - May 6th, 2024
Carol Jean Bond, 74, of Kersey, Colorado passed away May 6, 2024 at her home. She was born November 30, 1949 to Frank and Virginia (Gross) Bond in Greeley. Carol grew up in Kersey and graduated from Platte Valley High School in 1967. Carol worked with her dad on the family farm on the North edge of Kersey until they moved into Kersey, then they farmed East of Evans for many years. She worked at Distortions Unlimited in Kersey for a few years. Carol then worked at Miller’s Greenhouse in Greeley for a number of years before going to work for Weld County as the Mobile Unit Coordinator in 2006. She retired in 2020. In addition to her work, she spent a great deal of her adult life as a caregiver for her parents.
Carol loved computers. She was the “help desk” for all of her family and friends when they had computer issues. She liked making flower arrangements for special occasions for numerous family members and friends as well as entering her arrangements in the Weld County Fair. She won many awards at the fair for her flower arrangements, and she later became the Superintendent of the flower show. Carol was also into genealogy, continuing the work her mother had started, tracing the family history back over several generations. She was recognized as a 12-gallon blood donor by North Colorado Medical Center. Carol loved playing cards and hosted Monday night cards at her house for years with her brothers, cousin, and anyone else who cared to join in. Carol enjoyed fishing, and she loved attending all her family’s events.
Carol is survived by her brother David Bond of Kersey, sister-in-law Irene Bond of Kersey, nephew Don Bond and wife Lynn of Kersey, nieces Cynthia Horn and husband Darren of Kersey and Jolene Hart of Greeley; and six great nieces and nephews, Zachary Hart of Greeley, Dustin Horn and wife Annika of Englewood, Colorado, Shjon Hart of Greeley, Kyle Horn, Jamie Bond and Jessica Bond, all of Kersey. Carol was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Jess Bond.
A Life Celebration will be held at 11:00a.m., Thursday, May 16, 2024, at Adamson Life Celebration Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Kersey Historical Museum in care of Adamson Life Celebration Home, 2000 W. 47th Ave., Greeley, CO 80634.
