Christopher Dean Yocom

October 31, 1959 – November 25, 2019 Chris was born October 31, 1959 to Carl Dean and Annabelle Yocom. He passed away on Monday, November 25, 2019 at Shands Hospital in Gainesville. He is a United States Navy veteran having served 20 years. He married Susan (Mockler) Yocom July 22, 1983. He retired to Ocala with family where he started his second career as the IT director for the Urology Center of Florida. Then he went to the VA OPC at the Villages. Chris received his master’s degree from Hawaii Pacific University and also his MCSE and NOVELL certifications. He is survived by his wife, Susan, his son Christopher David Yocom, his mother and father-in-law, Rosemary and John Mockler, his brother, Jerry Yocom, his sister-in-law, Denise Yocom, his nephews, Matthew and Terry Yocom Jr. and his niece Christina Yocom; also his brothers-in-law, Paul Mockler, Robert Mockler, sister-in-law, Micaela Mockler and his niece Nicole Torres. He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Terry Yocom. The family will receive friends at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, 5946 SE Robinson Road in Belleview, on Sunday, December 8, 2019, from 2:00 to 4:00 PM. A committal ceremony will take place on Tuesday, December 10, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida. Condolences may be expressed at hiers-baxley.com.
