Joan Elizabeth Bateman

Joan Elizabeth Bateman, 87, of Chiefland, Florida passed away May 21, 2021 at her daughter’s home in Ocala, Florida. Joan was born in East Patchogue, New York, a daughter of the late John and Elizabeth Golsner. She had a tremendous green thumb and enjoyed gardening, growing, and propagating many types of plants and flowers. She loved her family very much and enjoyed any opportunity to cook for them and also baking bread and cakes for any special occasion. She was an avid Florida Gators Football fan and never missed a chance to cheer for them while watching every televised game. Joan is survived by daughters, Joan Michele of Ocala, FL and Gail Kane and her husband Bob of Tarpon Springs, FL and sons, Tom Mottl and his wife Debbie of Belleview, FL and Peter Bateman and his wife, LaVonne of Hoschton, GA. She has 11 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. She is also survived by brother, Fred Golsner of Inverness, FL. She was preceded in death by son, Ed Mottl. The Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, May 28, 2021 at 1:00 PM at Blessed Trinity Catholic Church, Ocala, FL.
