Edward August “Monte” Burau, 87, of Summerfield, FL, passed away on Thursday, March 15, 2018. Edward was born in Buffalo, NY to Edward and Hazel Burau, and has lived in Summerfield since 2008. He was a crane operator. He was a member of Hamburg Golf Club Men’s League in Hamburg, NY, Edward enjoyed playing cards, golfing ( he experienced a hole in one 3 times!), bowling, woodworking, and the Dell Webb billiards room (where his daughter nicknamed him “Minnesota Fats”). He was a strong, provider, a caring person, a "do it yourself'er", and will always be remembered for his smile. Visitation will be Tuesday, March 20 from 1-2pm at the funeral home with eulogy and tributes beginning at 2:00pm. A reception will follow at the funeral home. Memorial donations can be made to Hospice of Marion County. Arrangements are being handled by Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services 5946 SE Robinson Rd. Belleview, FL 34421 (352)-245-2424.
