Sgt. "Playboy" Keith Duke Miller
December 22nd, 1940 - January 30th, 2015
Sgt. Keith Duke Miller (Playboy) passed away on January 30, 2015 after a long and courageous struggle with cancer and COPD. Keith was an Army Veteran who was stationed in Lanstual, Germany from 1959 to 1962 as an MP. Keith worked for the Detroit Police Department from 1962 to 1988. He worked primarily in the Narcotics Bureau. From 1982 to 1985 he worked with DEA and then with various other Federal combined task forces. He was a U.S. Federal Marshall and deputized Wayne County Sheriff. He moved to Albuquerque, NM in 1988 with his family and started a horse boarding facility. In 1997 with the help of his second wife, Susan he expanded his business to include a very successful Horse Motel. Keith was passionate about the military, gardening, horses, golf, Detroit Sports and spending time with his grandchildren. He was also a history buff. Keith was predeceased by his first wife, Betty E. Miller and his parents Charles and Mary Miller of Grosse Pointe Woods, MI. He is survived by his wife, Susan Michael Miller (Lazar); daughter, Kelly Miller; sons, Keith, Jr., Charles and Kevin Miller; sister-in-law, Bonnie Jacobson (Kenneth); brothers in law, Jerry and Gary Lazar; grandchildren, Jasmine, Mariah Esqueda (Carlos), Kelsey Mae Massey (Tuan), Chaz, Cody, Stephen, Dillon and Kevin; great-grandchildren, Sila, Leon, Penolope, Christopher and Layleanna. He was also a beloved stepfather to Shawn Glaza (Zach), Tracie Ottmann (Danny) and Kerry Delibera; and grandchildren, Ashley, Brianna, Joshua, Veronica, Rachel, Joseph; the loves of his life, Rylie and Sloane; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Service will be celebrated at the Santa Fe National Cemetery on Thursday, February 12, 2015 at 1:30 PM. A gathering to celebrate his life will be held at the Broken M Ranch, LLC, on Saturday, February 14, 2015 commencing at 1:00 PM. Another service and get together will be held in Michigan in mid-June.
