Polich, Margaret B., 84, was born on July 24, 1928 to William D. and Eril Bell in Flora Vista, New Mexico. She passed away on Wednesday, June 26, 2013. She grew up in the Farmington, Delta, Colorado, and La Plada, Colorado area. She graduated from Gallup High School in 1948, then married Rudy Polich on June 26, 1948. She became a great cook and baked the best bread ever in a wood stove oven. Margaret and Rudy had six children. Margaret worked at S& H Green Stamp store; was manager of the Gold Bond Store; worked at the catalog store at Montgomery Wards; and was a skip tender at the United Nuclear Uranium Mine in Churchrock, New Mexico for five years. She was also a cook at the Ford Canyon Senior Citizens Center and then became the Director where she retired in 1995. After she retired, she enjoyed her family and her friends. She also enjoyed her grandchildren and greatgrandchildren, weekends and special times at the McGaffey Ranch. Margaret was preceded in death by her husband Rudy; her son Gene; her parents William and Eril Bell; brothers Dewey and Cecil Bell; and her sisters Betty Teninity and Dorothy Bell. She is survived by her children Carol Bittner and her husband Curtis of Los Lunas, NM, Veronica Feagin and her husband Ross of Gallup, NM, Beverly Gonzales and her husband Eddy of Gallup, NM, David Polich of La Boca, CO, and Frank Polich and his wife Heather of Aztec, NM; her sisters Fay Radosevich of Orlando, FL, Mercedes Robinson, Lois Hinsley, and Linda Wilson all of Farmington, NM; her brother Robert William (Mike) Bell of Gillroy, CA; thirteen grandchildren and twenty-seven great-grandchildren. Cremation will take place, and a Memorial Service will take place on Tuesday, July 2, 2013 at 10:00AM at the East Aztec Baptist Church in Gallup, NM. A reception will follow the service at Z Lazy B Ranch in Page, NM. Privaate interment will take place at a later date. Honorary Pallbearers will be Stephen Bittner, Christopher Bittner, Ryan Henderson, Jimmy Graham, Rudy Graham, Matthew Graham, Gilbert Gonzales, William Polich, and Nolan Riley. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made in Margaret's name to the Dementia and Alzheimers Association at alz.org or by calling 1-800-272-3900.
