Severo Garcia
August 23rd, 1931 - December 18th, 2015
Severo Garcia, age 84 went home to be with his Lord and Savior on December 18, 2015. He was born in Willard, NM and spent his young life in Barstow, CA and his adult life in Clovis, NM & Albuquerque, NM. He retired from Santa Fe Railroad after 37 years of service. He was a member of St. Bernadette Catholic Church since 1976, as well as a member of the Knights of Columbus, St. Vincent DePaul and Bear Canyon Senior Center. His hobbies included spending time with his family, painting, playing and teaching musical instruments, golfing, hunting, fishing and camping. He was preceded in death by his parents, Flavio and Clorinda Garcia, and his brothers, Bennie Garcia, Eloy Garcia, and Tony Garcia. Severo is survived by his beautiful wife of 64 years, Frances. They raised 8 children; Michael (Jeanette) Garcia of Barstow California, Jeremiah (Joan)Garcia of Silver City NM , Rick (Judy)Garcia of Albq. NM, Theresa Garcia of Washington , David Garcia of Albuq, NM, Christine Baccarri of Sacramento Calif., Andy (Mary) Garcia of Los Lunas NM, and Annette (Paul)Glenn of SeviervilleTenn. They were blessed with 19 grandchildren; Shawn Garcia Strauss, Nathanael Garcia, Jeremy Garcia, Joshua Garcia, Monica Garcia, Rick Jr. Garcia, Andrea Garcia, Danielle Garcia, Dominic Garcia, Vanessa Garcia, Patrick Baccari, Brianna Baccari, Nicole Mendez, Natalie Belt, Sarah Mendez, Rachel Martinez, Geralyn Hoffman, Loreal Glenn, and Zach Glenn, in addition to 15 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters, Amalia Bruce, Ramona Baca, Amy Carabajal, Frances Gomez, Eva Garcia, Olivia Enriquez, and Viola Rodriguez. He is also survived by his brothers, George Garcia and Johnny Garcia. He will always be remembered by his beautiful green eyes, big heart, and unconditional love. The recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held on Monday, December 21, 2015 at 8:15 am with the Mass of Resurrection to follow at 9:00 am at the Shrine of St. Bernadette Catholic Church, 11401 Indian School Road, NE. Interment to follow at Sunset Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be: Jeremy Garcia, Shawn Garcia, Dominic Garcia, Joshua Garcia, Paul Gurule, and Rick Garcia. Honorary Pallbearers are: Mike Avila, Paul Avila, Matt Avila, Don Gurule, and Joshua Martinez. Arrangements entrusted to: Riverside Funeral Home 225 San Mateo Blvd. NE (505) 764-9663.
