Mateo (Matthew) Marquez was taken from us too soon and went to be with the Lord on May 8, 2016. Mateo was born to Rudy Marquez Jr. and Devanne Archibeque on August 15, 1994. Mateo was the light of so many lives! He was a loving father, companion, son, brother, nephew, and friend. When he loved you, he loved you with all of his heart. Mateo was preceded in death by his Great Grandparents, Juan and Louisa Marquez; and his grandfather, who was guaranteed to have met him at the pearly gates, Rudy Marquez Sr. He is survived by the mother of his children, April Ronquillo; son Zachary (2), daughter Aalyiah (1); father, Rudy Marquez Jr. (Deanna); mother, Devanne; brothers, Mario, Manuel, and Rudy Marquez III, Ray and Blas Prado; and sister, Reyna Prado; grandparents, Nana Lena Marquez, Robina Brawley (Greg) and Rudy Archibeque (Phil), uncles Ruben (Sonia) and Gabriel Archibeque (girlfriend, Linda), Roman Marquez, Reyes Marquez and Lincoln Hill (Tarla) and numerous great aunts and uncles, cousins and dear friends. When asked to describe Mateo, friends and family all agreed he fit the poem: The Crazy Ones. Here's to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They're not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can praise them, disagree with them, quote them, disbelieve them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can't do is ignore them. Because they change things. They invent. They imagine. They heal. They explore. They create. They inspire. They push the human race forward. Maybe they have to be crazy. How else can you stare at an empty canvas and see a work of art? Or sit in silence and hear a song that's never been written? Or gaze at a red planet and see a laboratory on wheels? While some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do…" ― Jack Kerouac A Viewing will be held on Saturday, May 14, 2016 beginning at 9:00 AM at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church with the recitation of the Holy Rosary to follow at 10:30 AM. The Mass of Resurrection will also take place on Saturday, May 14, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church.
