Steven Cline
October 27th, 1948 - August 14th, 2015
Steve Cline of Erie, CO, passed away on August 14th on his property. Steve, a retired trout farmer, lived a full life in his short adventure here. Through his travels for trout delivery, he knew beautiful places in Colorado, Wyoming, New Mexico, and even Kansas like few are fortunate enough to know. He took pride in live deliveries….all of them. Outside of work, he would usually travel the diversion of “ the road not taken.” Athletic and extremely fast, he ran intermediate hurdles in college at NJC, then, recreational sports that Boulder County provided. His creative, brilliant mind formed many inventions as well as art work. Some of these included: aeration systems, fish tanks, trailers, modified trucks and bridges. On the artistic side, he created bird bath bases for his wife’s little projects; garden and stream bridges; and railings and banisters in art galleries. His dirt work and landscape skills were imperative when creating a residence out of an excavating company and horse pasture. The leach field demanded by Weld County and the exacting details of Hot Toddy, the engineer, placed an additional challenge to his mind as he created the PVC maze with appropriate levels of drop. The deck he constructed almost entirely by himself challenged the neighbors to go to bed early, since work would begin noisily at 5:30. When neighbors and friends would drive by or drive in, whether by car or ATV, a question would be, “Do you ever quit working?” for which they could see the answer was, “No.” He never stopped working, improving, creating and changing things on his properties to make them more livable and enjoyable. The support and caring shown by friends, neighbors and some family, has been overwhelming, for which he would be extremely grateful. Steve’s strong spirit remains such a presence that we’ll all continue to see it and feel it in his finished projects, his works in progress, his amazing talents, and his colorful language and direct speaking which left no one wondering what his real feelings were. He’ll be sorely missed by all who cared. There will be a Celebration of Life on September 19th, from 2:00-6:00 at our home in Erie, by invitation only. Please bring or email your fondest or most memorable memories of Steve. Food and drink provided. [email protected] Service Information A service summary is not available
