Elaine Welch

Elaine Welch, 83, died Wednesday, March 15, 2017, at Life Spire Assisted Living, Albuquerque, NM. A memorial service will be held at Riverside Funeral Home, 225 San Mateo Blvd. NE, Albuquerque, at 3:00 PM on Sunday, March 19. Mrs. Welch was born to Herman and Mattie (Ocker) Bockerman in Glenvil, NE. She worked as a service rep with Lincoln Telephone & and Telegraph in Nebraska and with Mountain Bell in Albuquerque. Retiring after 35 years with the company, she then worked part-time at Monzano del Sol as a receptionist for 10 years. She was a member of Christ the Ray of Hope Lutheran Church. Survivors include her sister L. Jeanine Dahlsten of Blue Hill, NE; seven nieces and nephews, Joni Pierce (Brian DeBruine) of Albuquerque, Lori Ochsner (Jon) of Fort Mill, SC, Greg Pierce of Corvallis, OR, Scott Pierce (Terri) of Cozad, NE, and Tim Pierce, Tom Roark, and Michelle Roark, all of Hastings, NE; twelve great nieces and nephews; and three great-great nieces.
