Linda Fey

Biography Linda (Hendriks) Fey, 70, of Longmont, CO., died Friday, March 5, 2015 at Longmont United Hospital surrounded by her immediate family. Linda was born August 23, 1944, in Edgerton Village, MN., to Ben and Lucille (Vander Linden) Hendriks. Linda grew up in Edgerton, MN. In 1962 she graduated from Edgerton Public School and then attended Stewart Beauty School in Sioux Falls, S.D. Following graduation from beauty school she moved to southern California where she worked as a hair stylist. She and Dennis Fey married in on August 4, 1964 in Las Vegas, NV and moved to Whittier, CA, where their first two children were born. In 1971 the family moved to Longmont, CO. Linda drove a school bus for the St. Vrain Valley School District for 18 years. She then became a business owner and operated a successful beauty-supply store for more than 13 years in Boulder, CO. After retiring in 1998 she enjoyed traveling throughout North America with her husband and spending time with family. In addition to being a wonderful cook, Linda’s creativity was evident in the items she made with her hands. She was a talented seamstress and enjoyed knitting, quilting, and scrapbooking along with a variety of other crafts. Additionally, in 2006 she published a 250-page family cook book. Survivors include her husband Dennis Fey, Longmont, CO; daughters, Tanya Aschenbrenner and husband Vance of Longmont, CO and Nicole Mellin and husband David of Brighton, CO.; son, Jason Fey of Denver, CO.; brothers, Norm Hendriks and wife Jan of Storm Lake, Iowa and Mel Hendriks and wife Ann of Edgerton; sister-in-law Millie Hendriks; and four grandchildren, Emily Aschenbrenner, and Ryan, Madison and Zachary Mellin. She was preceded in death by her brother, Wes Hendriks. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, March 16 2015, First Reformed Church of Edgerton, 230 Maple St., Edgerton, MN. Inurnment will be at the Hillside Cemetery of Edgerton, State Hwy 268, Edgerton, MN.
