Stephen Paul Clouatre

The Lord released Steve of his pain and suffering and called him home of October 3, 2017. Steve, 66, was born on March 28, 1951 in Cairo, IL. He was the son of Clement and Lucille Clouatre. Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday Oct 9th at First Baptist Church, Carrizozo with Pastor Hayden Smith officiating. Military burial service will be held on Wednesday the 11th at 2 pm at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Ardmore, OK. Steve and Wanda Mays were married of December 31st, 2006. They lived in Carrizozo for several years and then moved to Albuquerque, NM during Steve's illness. Steve served in the Navy, Special Forces Unit during the Vietnam War from 1969 thru 1974. He enjoyed hunting and gold panning up in the Jicarilla Mountains of Lincoln County, NM. He loved the mountains. Now he is on the highest mountain in heaven looking down on us all. He is preceded in death by his parents, step-son Garret Mays, and brother Kirk Clouatre. Steve is survived by his wife Wanda, daughter Cheree Beck, son John Paul Hill, brothers Kent Clouatre and Clay Clouatre. Eight grandchildren, Tyler, Amanda and Janie Rasmussen, Gabriel and Cynthia Beck, Alyssa, Jaden and Olivia Hill, and one great great grandson Bentley James.
