Luella met her husband on a double date with her sister and Bud’s cousin in January of 1941. They were married on October 4th of that year. They purchased a farm in Maiden Valley, living there from 1948 to 1966 while raising their four children. In 1966, they moved to North Loup. Luella’s faith in God and family were the two most important things in her life. She was baptized, along with her husband, and joined the North Loup Seventh Day Baptist Church where her membership remained for some 65 years, serving many of those years as a deaconess. While living in Colorado, they attended the Boulder Seventh Day Baptist Church. She enjoyed spending her time quilting, crocheting, cooking and doing word puzzles; family and friends were often recipients of her works of art.
