November 12, 1924-January 25, 2018. Clyde Andres Espinosa, 93, died Thursday, January 25, in Bernalillo County. Born November 12, 1924, in Maxwell, NM to Jose S. Espinosa and Polomita (Maestas) Espinosa. Clyde entered the United States Army in with his loving wife, Rafaelita by his side and had been surrounded by his family throughout the week. Clyde entered the United States Army in 1943. He served his country as a Staff Sargeant Combat Medic in the Philipine Islands, in the Army during World War II. Clyde worked in construction with his brother William Espinosa, he was such a hard worker! Later he retired from construction work and for many years sold "Clyde's Famous Chile." He enjoyed selling chile and fruit at the flea market and to the New Mexico Native Pueblos. Clyde made friends everywhere he went especially at the pueblos his friends would give him beautiful turquois jewelry. When Clyde became too ill to get around, he never lost his faith, he always was interested in how his family was doing and always prayed for his loved ones. He loved his children and his grandchildren, and they brought so much joy to him. Clyde was proud of being an Army Veteran, and loved to wear his hat with the United States flag and WWII emblems. He was a member of this church for many years and always kept a close walk with God. His famous words "Let's Pray", "Never Give Up", "Daddy Loves You". He is at rest, and his love and his spirit will remain with us now and forever. He was our "Dad" our "Grandpa" our "Uncle Clyde." He takes a piece of our hearts and we will always treasure the wonderful memories with him, his love, his strength, and perseverance. We love him so much and he will forever remain in our hearts. He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Rafaelita (Barela) Espinosa; five children, daughter Betty Chapman and son-in-law Chris McMillan, daughter Cathy Navin and son-in-law Bob Navin, son Clyde (Cliff) Peters, son Clyde Joseph Espinosa and daughter-in-law Lisa Ross Espinosa, daughter Jessica Crystal Romero and son-in-law Marcus Romero, 11 grandchildren, Michelle Zimney, Tracy Welch, Priscilla Johnson, Selena Espinosa, Sarah Espinosa, Isaac Espinosa, Ricky Van Why, Naiyah Van Why, Luciano Romero, Katalina Romero, Emilio Romero, 3 great grandchildren, Matthew Zimney, Jacqueline Welch, Brandon Garcia, and 1 great-great grandchild, Derek Zimney. Clyde Espinosa is also survived by brothers William Espinosa and Richard Espinosa, and sister Arlene Wagner. Visitation is scheduled Monday, January 29, 2018, 4-6 p.m. at Riverside Funeral Home, 225 San Mateo Road NE. The funeral will take place at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 30, 2018.
