Marie Minerva Garcia, affectionately known as "Minnie", was born the youngest of eight children; Agapito, Conrado Jr., Edwardo "Lalo", Annita (Ortiz), Bennie, Marie Valentina (Lucero), and Wilfred, in Domingo, New Mexico on August 31, 1931. Her parents Conrado Garcia Sr. and Maraquita (Ortiz) lived in many places in Northern New Mexico during Minnie's father's life working for the railroad. They finally settled in Bernalillo, New Mexico, where Minnie was raised. Minnie was baptized, confirmed, received her sacraments and schooling, and married at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Parish in Bernalillo. In late 1951 Minnie married Perfecto Garcia of Bernalillo and moved to Albuquerque where their children; Emiliano, Kathryn (Kaiser), Rosemarie "Ree" (Garcia), Angelica (Tyler), and Diana (Ricon) were born. She worked tirelessly while raising five children by herself. Minnie managed the famous "Dog House" restaurant for a decade. Later she worked at JC Penney, retiring from the company after many years. Minnie, a devout Catholic, was a member of Queen of Heaven Parish in Albuquerque. A devotee of Our Lady's Rosary she prayed faithfully and always made time for her daily devotions. Minnie also showed love of God through love of neighbor. Her family, friends and co-workers will always remember her kindness and gentle sense of humor. She was always ready to listen and be there through any kind of trouble for those who loved her. Marie Minerva Garcia, humble child of God, passed to her eternal reward sometime during the rnight of March 9-10, 2018. Minnie was preceeded in death by her parents, husband, siblings, son Emiliano, and granddaughter Ana Marie Kaiser. Minnie leaves extended family; her daughters, grandchildren, great grandchildren and a brand new great great grandson. We'll miss her homemade tortillas and biscochitos and her endless generosity and kindness. We will celebrate her race well run confident she reposes in the arms of her eternal spouse Jesus Christ Our Lord. Thank you Lord for her motherhood and time with us. Â
