Nettie Griego

It is with great sadness that the family of Nettie Griego announces her passing on Tuesday, 6/5/2018 at the age of 75. Nettie was born in Bernalillo, NM and lived the majority of her life in Bernalillo. Nettie graduated from Bernalillo High School in 1961. She worked in the Sandoval County Clerk's office in the late 1960's until she ran for office in 1979 and was elected Sandoval County Clerk and served two terms between 1979-1982. She served a third term in 1987-1988 when she was once again re-elected County Clerk.  She retired after 17 years as an administrative assistant from the Sandoval County District Attorney's office. Nettie is preceded in death by her mother and father, Julia and Abelicio Moya, sister Isabel Gonzales (Filimon Gonzales) and sons, Alex Lucero and Danny Lucero.  Nettie will be lovingly remembered by her children Donna Lucero, Yolanda Lucero, and son Matt Armenta and his father, Matt Armenta, Sr. and his wife Theresa Armenta and son Marcus Armenta.  She will be fondly remembered by her grandchildren: Paul Lopez (Lisa Mansfield), Adriana Lopez, Melissa Lucero (TJ Roybal), Tommy Lucero (Suzanne Lucero), Tammy Lucero (Steven Dominguez), JoAngel Lucero, Danielle Lucero, Destiny Lucero, Matthew Armenta, and Alejandro Armenta.  She will be deeply missed by her siblings Lena Archibeque (Jerry Archibeque), Gloria Dominguez (Roger Dominguez), Tony Moya (Cecilia Moya), Esther Archibeque (Johnny Archibeque), Laura Moya (John Espinoza), Sandra Lucero (Henry Lucero), and Kathy Rivera (Donald Rivera). Nettie also leaves behind 13 great grandchildren, 22 nieces and nephews, 25 great nieces and nephews, and 37 great great nieces and nephews.  She will also be forever remembered by her extended family and dear friends.  Visitation will begin at 10:30am with a rosary to be recited at 11:00am and funeral mass at 12:00pm in memory of Nettie Griego on Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at Our Lady of Sorrows (OLOS) Catholic Church, 301 S Camino Del Pueblo, Bernalillo, NM 87004. A reception will follow at the Sandoval County Sheriff's Posse at 1043 Rodeo Ln, Bernalillo, NM 87004. Pallbearers:  Paul Lopez, Tommy Lucero, Matthew Armenta, Marcus Armenta, TJ Roybal and Steven Dominguez. Honorary Pallbearers:  Roger Jameson, Luke Lopez, Alex Lopez, Liam Lopez, Steven Dominguez, and Alejandro Armenta.  Condolences and flowers in memory of Nettie will be accepted on Monday before 5pm at the OLOS Catholic Church social center.   Â
