Biography Marvin "Joe" Clymer Marvin Joe Clymer of Lafayette, CO passed away October 18, 2014 in Thornton, CO at the age of 83, surrounded by his family and family from Elms Haven, where he had spent the last three years battling Alzheimer’s disease. Joe was born in Greeley, CO on June 17, 1931. His mother passed away when he was only 2 weeks old so he was raised by his sister and brother. As a teen, he lived with his brother Clyde and sister-in-law, Inez in Lincoln, NE and Aspen, CO. After serving in the US Air Force, he met and married Roberta “Bert” Kopsa on July 5, 1956. The couple resided in Denver, Loveland, Galton, Greeley, Rye, Pueblo, and Holly, CO and had five children together. Joe held several positions mostly related to road construction and maintenance including the Colorado State Highway Dept. as well as the City Lafayette, but his real passion was his love for music and performing. He played guitar and sang his favorite country music for adoring fans all over Colorado and made a couple of records with some of his band members over the years. Joe was also known for his tremendous sense of humor. From his vast recollections of jokes to his near perfect impressions of Donald Duck and Pepe’ Lepew’ he could keeps his friends and family entertained for hours. “ Deep within his heart lies a melody” The song is ended but the melody lingers on Dad. He was preceded in death by his mother and father Orville and Bertha, his stepmother, Doris, his brothers Clyde and Harland as well as his wife of 15 years, Roberta Kopsa Clymer. He is survived by: his children, Terry (Roger) Roberts of Longmont, CO; Eldon (Denise) Clymer of Fiddletown, CA; Douglas (Wendy) Clymer of Sacramento, CA; Sandra (Ivan) Kyles of Plymouth, CA; and Marvin “Pete” Clymer of Brighton, CO; his sisters, Eva “Dut” Goodfellow of Greeley, CO, Evelyn “Evy” Mathis of Greeley, CO, June (Jim) Carolus, of Greeley, CO and brother Bill (Pam) Clymer of Briggsdale, CO.; grand children; Kristie (Jeremiah) Beckett, Nash Seufer of Longmont, CO, Casey Lee, of Longmont, CO, Helen (Ben) Holzmeister, Travis Clymer of Napa, CA, Austin (Nicolette) Clymer of Napa, CA, Sadie Clymer of Sacramento, CA, Lacie Clymer of Yuba City, CA, Joshua Clymer of San Francisco, CA, Amanda Clymer of Sacramento, CA, Tiah Akerly of Plymouth, CA, Sarah Gribble of Placerville, CA, Cullen Akerly of Plymouth, CA, Jeremy Clymer of Sacramento, CA, and Skylar Clymer of Sacramento, CA,; great grand children: Jordynn, Avry, and Brooklyn Lee; Ethan and Braden Beckett, Jesse French and Narina Holzmeister, Caden and Claire Gribble; and Stella Brooks; and scores of nieces and nephews. There will be a celebration of life held on January 24, 2015 at: 2:00pm at Carroll-Lewellen, 503 Terry St, Longmont Co with reception to follow.
