Warner Robins, GA: Fred E. Metzler, Sr., 83, passed away on Wednesday October 6, 2011. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, October 10th at the First United Methodist Church. Burial will be at Magnolia Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 until 5 PM Sunday at the funeral home. Dr. Jimmy R. Asbell, Jr. and Rev. Missy Blumenthal will officiate. Mr. Metzler was born in Royalton, PA. He was preceded in death by his parents David E. Metzler and Letonia Metzler. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Warner Robins, GA and a member of the Wesley Sunday School Class. He served proudly in the United States Navy during the World War II and Korean conflicts. He was retired from Robins Air Force as an equipment specialist. Mr. Metzler was Past Master of Tyrian Masonic Lodge No. 111: Past Master of the 12th Masonic District; Past General Secretary and Personal Representative to the Sovereign Grand Inspector General, Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite, Valley of Macon. He was also a member of Tall Cedars of Lebanon, Al Shiah Shrine; Warner Robins Chapter 526 of the National Sojourners, Ft. Hawkins Camp of the Heroes of 76 and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Survivors include his wife of 64 years Jane H. Metzler of Warner Robins, son Fred E. Metzler, Jr. and daughter-in-law DeLisa Braucht both of Covington, GA. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the First United Methodist Church @ 205 N. Davis Dr., Warner Robins, GA, 31093 or to the Scottish Rite Children’s Medical Center, Inc., 1001 Johnson Ferry Rd., Atlanta, GA, 30342 in memory of Mr. Metzler. Heritage Memorial Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
