Joan Barteau

Joan Barteau, beloved daughter, mother, sister, grandmother, aunt, and friend passed away at the age of 78 on Wednesday, November 21, 2018. Joan was preceded in death by her parents (Adairene and Wilfred), her step-mother (Emma), her brothers (Richard, LaVerne, and Vernon), her sister (Sue Ann), her son (Steven), her daughter (Dianna), and her granddaughter (Audrey). She is survived by her daughters (Lisa and Deborah), her sisters (Gail, Natalie, and Kathy), her brothers (Gordon, John, Nathan, and Philip), her grandchildren (Andre, Zechariah, Erica, Alexander), her great grandchildren (Fernando, Castiel, Acelynne, Ayden, and Axel), and many other family members and dear friends. Joan will forever be remembered for her unfailing devotion to her family and her many years of service to the Smith Engineering Company in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She was playful, smart, generous, hard-working, a woman admired and respected by all who knew her. She loved roses and was fascinated by meteorology. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, December 6, at 10:00 am at the Asbury United Methodist Church (10000 Candelaria Road NE, Albuquerque, NM 87112). The Barteau family extends heartfelt gratitude to the caring staff at the Hospice Facility at Presbyterian Kaseman Hospital.
