Hilario N. Leyba, born March 3, 1932, passed away on January 2, 2019 surrounded by Tillie, his loving wife of 66 years and family. Hilario honorably served in the United States Army. In his lifelong career as a lath and plasterer, he founded his own business, Leyba Lath and Plaster, which is still family owned and operated. He also worked for the U.S. National Park Service preserving historical sites. He loved music and was a talented musician and proud member of Los Rancheros Allegres. He enjoyed being around his horses, coaching basketball, and his most cherished moments were spent with his family. He is preceded in death by his parents, Natividad and Tomasita Leyba, sister Predicanda, brother-in-laws, Demetrio and Joe Leyba, son-in-law Jessie Encinias and grandsons Jude Encinias and Christopher Varela. He is survived by his wife Tillie, children Leroy (Charlotte), Gilbert (Bernadette), Leo (Abbie), Martha, Geno (Roselyn), Debra (Andrew), Nikki (Mark), 12 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren, sisters Rose and Lucy, brother Ralph Leyba, mother-in-law Rosalia Tapia and many other relatives and friends. Services will take place at St. Anthony's Parish in Pecos, NM. Viewing will begin at 6:00 pm on January 6, 2019 followed by the Rosary. Funeral Mass will be held on January 7, 2019 at 10:00 am, Burial will immediately follow at the Rowe Cemetery with full military honors as afforded by the US Army.
