Jose Eugenio Bustos

On Wednesday April 10th, 2019 Jose Eugene Bustos, loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather passed away at age 85. He was born on September 22, 1933 to Juan and Fernanda Martinez in Cebolla, New Mexico. After graduating high school he enlisted in the Navy in June of 1953 and served aboard the U.S.S. Carpenter until 1957. On October 14, 1961, he married Lucy Emily Sanchez and they had a daughter named Roseanne (Rose). Jose was a very active member of the VFW Post 6216 (Veterans of Foreign Wars) and was commander twice and most currently served as the treasurer. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 72. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was proceeded in death by his wife Lucy Bustos, granddaughter Danielle Martinez, grandparents Elena and Duane Bustos, parents Juan and Fernanda Martinez, brothers Valdemar, Felix, John, Manny and Jake, nieces Eloisa, Alicia, and Angela, nephews Victor, Manny, Michael, Felix, Johnny and Robert. He is survived by his daughter Roseanne (Rose) and husband Mark, granddaughters Felicia and fiancé Joseph, Savannah and fiancé Preston, great grandson Dominic, brothers Hernando, Moises and wife Stella, Danny and wife Loyda, Larry and wife Cynthia, Harry, Sammy, Mario and Dan and wife Rosalie, sisters Julie, Virginia and Norma, as well as many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Thursday April 25th, 2019 8:30am-10:00am at Holy Family Catholic Church (562 Atrisco Dr. SW Abq, NM 87105). Burial to follow at the National Cemetery in Santa Fe, NM. A reception will be held at the VFW Post 6216 (Veterans of Foreign Wars) at 4pm. All arrangements are being handled by Riverside Funeral Home of Albuquerque.
