Kurt Rotter

Kurt Alan Rotter, 57, of Longmont, Colorado, passed away Thursday, July 3, 2014, in Longmont. Born in June 1957 in Los Angeles, California, he was the son of Rodger and Jean Rotter. Kurt earned a bachelor’s degree at the University of California at Los Angeles, and a master’s at the University of Arizona. He married Patricia Prentice in October 1986 in Thousand Oaks, California. Kurt was an imports broker for IBM, and moved to Longmont in 1986. He retired in February 2014. Kurt is survived by his wife, of Longmont; two daughters, Holly Rotter and Samantha Rotter, both of Tampa, Florida; two sisters, Liann Scott and her husband, Greg, and sons, Rhett and Cameron, of Loveland; and Lori Rotter and daughter, Terri, of Longmont; his mother-in-law, Dorothy Prentice, of Longmont; three brothers-in-law, Joseph Prentice and David Prentice, both of Longmont, and Kevin Prentice, of Portland, Oregon; two nieces, Dr. Heather Prentice of Washington, D.C., and Kristina Prentice, of Longmont; a nephew, Mat Prentice, of Portland, Oregon; and numerous beloved aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jean and Rodger, and father-in-law, Jim Prentice. He also is survived by his faithful hunting companions – Bailey, Sandra and Luna. Kurt lived a full life and especially loved frequent visits to Deadwood, South Dakota. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. Kurt also loved playing Poker, Phase 10 and Yahtzee with his family. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, July 11, 2014, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 3791 Pike Road, Longmont, CO. A reception will be held at the church following the service.
